Stafford Half Marathon 2009
Stafford Half Marathon 2009. This year marked the 25th anniversary of the event.
My first sport event shoot.
The weather was very fine on the day.
I used canon 5D and two lenses: 16-35/f2.8L and 70-200/f2.8L.
I shot the junior mile, funrun and main marathon.
Then I pushes bicycles to Tixall road country side to catch some in running scenes.
Then back to Weston road for a few shots against the Stafford town Welcome Signpost.
Then back to town hall to catch the finish line.
Figure it will be good if there is no road block and a getaway scooter…:-)
I managed to shoot around 600 frames, kept around 400. About 75 had made it into the photojournalism essay.
Here is the photojournalism essay
Note: We understood that a competitor in the Stafford Half marathon collapsed and died after completing the race (the source). As a result the relevant photo was pulled from here. Our thoughts are with David and his family.
